A must try for all black forest pastry/cake lovers. A delicious treat for the eyes as well as your palate.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 200 ml fresh cream
  2. 1/2 cup dark chocolate
  3. 1/2 cup whipped cream
  4. Chocolate cake sponge 1
  5. 1 tin canned cherries

Instructions

  1. For chocolate mousse: Heat cream in a pan, when heated, add this warm cream in a bowl of chocolate. Allow it to cool in a refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
  2. In a piping bag, pour this chocolate mousse. Take a shot glass and pipe out a little mousse at the base.
  3. Place canned cherries (deseeded) on top of the piped mousse.
  4. Cut the cake sponge using a small round cookie cutter as to the size of the shot glass.
  5. Place the cake sponge on top of the cherries. Press it well. Pour some canned cherry syrup on top of the sponge to make it moist.
  6. Again pipe out the mousse till the rim of the shot glass and smooth it with a palate knife. Refrigerate to set for sometime.
  7. At the time of serving, pipe out whipped cream (using a star nozzle) at the top to form a peak. Place a cherry on the top of the peak and decorate it with some chocolate shavings.
