A traditional udupi Cuisine yet very tasty. Vadas soaked in coconut gravy called gojju. These soft and soaked vadas are delicious.
This is my favourite dish..

Soak urad dal for 2 hours. Grind dal with green chilli and a few curry leaves. Add very little water while grinding. Make a thick paste.
Put in a little salt and mix well. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
In a mixie jar, put grated coconut, mustard, tamarind and red chillies. Grind to a smooth paste.
Heat a pan, add the paste and add 1 litre water. Put salt as per taste and sugar. Mix well, let it boil for 5 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan, fry the vadas till light brown.
Dip these vadas in water for a minute, squeeze out the water lightly.
Put these vadas in the prepared gojju (curry). Let these vadas soak in gojju for 15-20 minutes.
Heat 1 tsp oil season with mustard and curry leaves. Pour on the prepared Gojjambode as a garnish.
