ABOUT Sweet Poha RECIPE

This is our Konkani traditional prasad served during all the festivals.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Poha 150 gms, approximately
  2. Jaggery 300 gms
  3. Coconut scrapings of 1 big coconut
  4. Cardamom powder 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Mix the grated coconut, poha and cardamom powder together. Keep it aside.
  2. Take a kadai. Add enough water just above the jaggery level and heat it. Once the jaggery is dissolved, turn off the flame and sieve the molten jaggery to remove any sand or other particles.
  3. Once again add this molten jaggery to the kadai and heat it.
  4. Check for the consistency by adding a small drop of jaggery liquid into a bowl of water. If it forms a small and soft ball then one string consistency is achieved.
  5. Turn off the flame and add it to the poha mixture after 5 minutes. Mix it well.
  6. This dish is ready to be served.
