ABOUT Butter Sauteed Makhana.. RECIPE

Makhana, also known as Fox Nuts or Lotus seeds is popularly known as a fasting food. Rich in fibre and low in calories, this promotes weight loss. It is a perfect snack for diabetics. It is a non-cereal grown in stagnant waters of wetlands, ponds, lakes and ditches. They are gluten free, protien rich and high in carbohydrates. An overall awesome one to munch on without any fears. Kids will definitely love them if given sauteed or stir fried with butter.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Makhana or fox tail nuts 2 cups
  2. Butter 2-3 tbsp
  3. Salt 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a non stick pan on a low heat.
  2. Add makhana and saute well turning them every now and then.
  3. Add salt according to taste.
  4. Serve them hot.
