ABOUT Nimbu Waali Daal (Lemon Daal) RECIPE

A yummy variety of daal made with lemon juice instead of tomatoes or tamarind as in Khatti Daal and is a perfect one to feed your tiny tots. Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Pigeon pea lentils 1 cup
  2. Lemons 2
  3. Turmeric 1 tsp
  4. RED CHILLI POWDER 1 TBSP
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  6. Green chillies slit 3-4
  7. Salt to taste
  8. FOR TEMPERING : Oil 2 tbsp
  9. cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  10. Dry red chillies 4
  11. curry leaves 10
  12. Asafoetida 1/4 Tsp

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook lentils with turmeric, red chilli powder and ginger garlic paste.
  2. After done, add chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Squeeze juice of both the lemons and add to it as well.
  4. Allow it to simmer on a medium high heat for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Add hot tempering to it just before serving.
