Fried vadas with daal

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urad daal 200gm
  2. salt as per taste
  3. Bakng soda 1/2tsp
  4. zeera 1tsp
  5. Karipatta leaves 10_12
  6. Tuvar dal 100gms
  7. Haldi powder
  8. Tomato 1or 2
  9. imli pulp
  10. Rai
  11. Whole red chilli
  12. Onion
  13. Sambhar masala
  14. Jaggery
  15. Dhania powder
  16. green coriander

Instructions

  1. Soak urad daal for 2_3hrs
  2. Grind it to paste
  3. Add baking soda mix well and keep aside for an hour.
  4. Add salt zeera and rice flour again mix it.
  5. Heat oil in kadai and deep fry the mendu vadas till golden brown.
  6. For sambhar: boil tuvar daal with haldi and salt.
  7. For tempering:heat oil in pan splutter some rai, methi dana it then add Kari patta and whole red chilli and Hing mix it then add chopped onions and saute till pink.
  8. Now add chopped tomatoes salt red chilli powder and cook till tomatoes are cooked
  9. Then add imli pulp dhania powder and mix
  10. Add sambhar masala powder cook till oil seperates add this masala to daal mix it
  11. Add water to daal and mix well it should be thin in consistency
  12. At last add jaggery for sweetness
  13. Garnish with green coriander
