ABOUT Desi Pasta E Penne... . RECIPE

A desi touch to the videshi pasta called Penne. Made in our own style, this is a perfect take on the most famous Italian version but purely vegetarian. Loads of beautiful and colourful Winter vegetables have gone into making this super awesome pasta. To make it little more palatable and lip-smacking, I added mozzarella cheese to it. Though it is optional, I added to make it more divine. Happy Dinner!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Pasta Penne 500 gm
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Butter or oil 3 tbsp
  4. Onion finely chopped 2
  5. Garlic mince or paste 1 tbsp
  6. Tomatoes finely chopped 4
  7. RED CHILLI POWDER 1 TBSP
  8. Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  9. Capsicum sliced 2
  10. Mushrooms sliced 1 cup
  11. Green Peas 1 cup
  12. Garam masala 1 tsp
  13. Coriander leaves finely chopped 1/4 cup
  14. Mozzarella Cheese (optional) 1 1/2 cups

Instructions

  1. Boil pasta with little salt Al dente.
  2. Drain and keep aside until use.
  3. In a cooking pot, heat butter or oil and saute onions.
  4. Add garlic mince to it along with chopped tomatoes.
  5. Add all the remaining spices and mix.
  6. Cover and cook until tender.
  7. Now add capsicum, green peas and mushrooms.
  8. Finally add pasta and mozzarella cheese.
  9. Mix well and adjust salt.
  10. Serve it hot immediately.
