ABOUT Baby Potato Curry with Peas RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 500 gram baby potatoes
  2. 250 gram peas
  3. 2 tablespoon onion paste
  4. 1 tbsp Tomato puree
  5. 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  6. 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  7. 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  9. 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  10. 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  11. 1/4 teaspoon meat masala powder
  12. 1/4 teaspoon Shahi garam masala powder
  13. 1/2 + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  14. 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  15. 1 green chilli chopped
  16. Water as required
  17. 4 tbsp Mustard oil
  18. For Tempering:
  19. 5 black peppercorn
  20. 1 bay leaf
  21. 2 whole dried red chilli
  22. 2 cardamom crushed
  23. 1 Cinnamon stick
  24. 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds

Instructions

  1. Boil the baby potatoes with enough water and then peeled them.
  2. In a pan heat mustard oil and add boiled potatoes.
  3. Add salt as per taste and half teaspoon turmeric powder.
  4. Stir fry for about 5 minutes on medium flame and then remove.
  5. in the remaining oil add all ingredients for tempering.
  6. When they release their Aroma add onion paste and fry till light golden brown.
  7. Add tomato puree, garlic paste.
  8. Add ginger paste and mix well.
  9. Add cumin powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder.
  10. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, meat masala powder, sugar mix well.
  11. Add peas.
  12. Stir fry for about 5 minutes on low-medium flame till the peas change its colour.
  13. Add 1/2 cup water and salt as per taste.
  14. Add the fried baby potatoes.
  15. Cook for 5 -7 minutes on low flame and then add garam masala powder.
  16. Mix and turn off the gas, add chopped coriander leaves, green chilli and serve.
