A Steamed Rice Flour and Coconut Breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 4 cups well roasted and sieved rice flour
  2. 1 litre of a mixture of Milk and Water
  3. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  4. 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Take 4 cups well roasted and sieved rice flour. Put a tsp of salt in it. Boil 1 litre of a mixture of Milk and Water. Once boiled while its still very hot, add slowly the milk-water mixture. to the rice flour with the help of a tablespoon.
  2. Once all the dry rice flour becomes wet. Knead the dough with your palm. Put few drops of oil to the dough and knead it again softly. This dish is made in Idli stand.
  3. To make the idiyappams we use the chakli maker using the one with the smallest holes. It's a steamed dish where u can follow the rest of the process the same way as we make idli.
  4. Steam just for 10 min coz it is already half cooked while mixing with the hot water. Add some grated coconut below and above the iddiyappams. Once cooked, serve it with either egg curry, vegetable stew, or channa curry.
