ABOUT Mutton Fry RECIPE

This mutton fry is one of my comfort food which is delicious as well as easy to prepare. If you are a mutton lover and love to try easy recipes, than this is the recipe you will love. This Easy Mutton Fry recipe is so simple and at the same time a very flavorful dish. It is made with just few basic ingredients which are easily available in our kitchen. Enjoy it as an appetizer or a side dish with your meal.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Ingredients for marination : 300 grams Mutton
  2. 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  3. 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  4. 1 tbsp Red Chilly powder
  5. 2 tbsp Curd / Yogurt
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Ingredients for Frying Mutton : 2-3 tbsp Oil
  8. 2 Onion chopped
  9. 2 Green Chilly chopped
  10. 1 Tomato chopped
  11. 1 inch Ginger chopped
  12. 5-6 Garlic chopped
  13. 2 sprigs Curry leaves
  14. 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  15. 1 tsp roasted coriander powder
  16. 1/2 tsp Crushed pepper
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Few Coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash the mutton nicely and cut them into bite size. In a bowl add the mutton and all the ingredients mentioned in the marination ingredient list. Mix well and keep them marinated, the longer time the better.
  2. Add the marinated mutton in a pressure cooker. Rinse the bowl with very little water and pressure cook the mutton foe 4-5 whistles. Let the pressure release naturally. Turn on the heat and evaporate the water completely if any stock remaining.
  3. In a pan heat the oil. Add the curry leaves and fry till crisp. Remove half of the fried curry leaves and keep aside. Add chopped ginger and garlic and saute for a min.
  4. Add the chopped onions and green chilly and saute till onion turns soft. Add the chopped tomato and saute till tomato turns mushy.
  5. Add the par cooked mutton and mix well. Continue to fry for about 15 mins stirring it continuously to prevent from burning.
  6. Add Garam masala powder, roasted coriander powder, crushed pepper, season with salt and mix well. Cook for another 5 mins. Add chopped coriander leaves, give a quick stir and take off the heat.
  7. Garnish with the remaining fried curry leaves, onion rings and serve.
