ABOUT My Sunday Comfort Lunch.( Childhood memories) RECIPE

My mom used to say Chicken is the easiest food to prepare. And you don,'t need anyother food when Chicken gravy is there. After a whole hectic week with job She was deserving a late sunrise for herself. So we used to have early lunch. And that also her signature dish, Chicken curry. So here is my childhood comfort lunch.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken drumsticks 6
  2. For the marination.
  3. Curd 2 tbsp
  4. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  5. Salt 1 tsp ( to taste)
  6. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  7. For the Gravy
  8. Onions 4
  9. Tomatoes 3
  10. Ginger grated 1 tsp
  11. Garlic crushed 1 tsp
  12. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  13. chilli powder 1 tsp
  14. Garam masala 1 tsp
  15. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  16. Cloves 6 to 8
  17. Cinnamon 1/2 inch stick
  18. Cardemom 3
  19. Pepper whole 1/2 tsp
  20. Bay Leaves 1
  21. Star anne 1
  22. Gram flour 1 tbsp ( heaped)
  23. oil 2 tbsp
  24. Coriander leaves chopped 2 tsp
  25. Fresh cream 1 to 2 tbsp.
  26. For Rice
  27. Rice 1 cup.
  28. Salt to taste.
  29. Wheat flour 1 cup
  30. Oil 1 tbsp
  31. Ghee to apply roti 2 tsp
  32. Onion chopped 2 while searving.
  33. Lemon chopped.

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with salt, turmeric, garlic ,ginger and curd.
  2. Refrigerate for 4 to 5 hrs.
  3. Pressure cook chicken with marination.
  4. Heat oil. Add all khada masala.
  5. As it fries remove with slotted spoon some pepper, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  6. Blend onions and tomatoes separately.
  7. Heat oil. Add gram flour, saute.
  8. As it changes colour , add onion paste.
  9. Saute. Add coriander powder, chilli powder, ginger, garlic ,garam masala.
  10. As it fries add tomato paste.
  11. Fry everything well. Add cooked chicken.
  12. Saute well. Than add chIcken soup.
  13. Mix and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  14. Pressure cook rice by adding salt.
  15. Make dough of wheat flour by adding oil and make roties.
  16. Now your chicken is ready.
  17. Add 1 tbsp fresh cream and they the heat off.
  18. Serve with garnish of coriander leaves.
  19. Serve chicken with roti, rice and chopped onions with lemon.
