ABOUT Masala Baingan RECIPE

Masala Baingan is a spicy recipe made with brinjal. This can be served with Rice or Chapatis.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Brinjal - 3 (3pcs/per serving)
  2. Ginger paste - 2 tbsp
  3. Garlic paste - 4 tbsp
  4. Onion paste - 3 medium sized
  5. Turmeric - 5 tbsp
  6. Tej Patta - 2 medium leaves
  7. Cinnamon - 2 small pcs
  8. Green Chilly - 4 slit (optional)
  9. Chilly powder - 2 tbsp
  10. Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  11. Cumin powder - 1 tbsp
  12. Maggi Masala-e-magic - 1 pkt (optional)
  13. Coriander - To garnish
  14. Salt - as per requirement

Instructions

  1. Cut Brinjal into 4 pieces making 12 pieces in total. Wash them properly.
  2. Add 2 tbsp turmeric powder and salt to taste. Mix with brinjal and place them aside for some time.
  3. Add oil in a woke and fry the brinjals untill they turn to golden colour. Keep them aside.
  4. Take oil in a woke and add all the whole spices and saute for 1 minute.
  5. Add onion paste and saute for 3 minutes.
  6. Add ginger and garlic paste and cook untill raw smell goes away.
  7. Add all masala powders one by one and add water to make the gravy consistent.
  8. Add salt to taste.
  9. Add brinjals and saute for sometime.
  10. Take out the dish, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
