ABOUT Braised Pork RECIPE

An irresistible juicy Chinese pork dish. If you love the flavours of pork seasoned with soya sauce and sesaoning, this dish is your pick!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 450g Pork (boneless)
  2. 2 cups Vegetabel/Chicken stock
  3. 1/4cup soy sauce
  4. 1/4 cup dry sherry
  5. 3 potatoes and cut in wedges
  6. 1 medium onion finely chopped
  7. 1tbsp Sugar
  8. 3tbsp Vegetable oil
  9. 1tsp chopped Garlic
  10. 1 tsp chopped Fresh Ginger
  11. 1tsp Spice powder

Instructions

  1. Combine pork, soy sauce, sherry, sugar and five-spice powder in a bowl. Marinate for an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add pork and fry until golden and sealed on all sides.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, onion. Stir-fry 2 mins. Add reserved marinade and stock to cover. Bring to a boil, simmer for 1.5 hours.
  4. Check for tenderness, if not done at 1/4 cup of stock or water and simmer for another half an hour.
  5. Serve hot with potatoes wedges.
