Gajar Ka Halwa or Carrot Halwa is a traditional Indian sweet or dessert made with fresh red carrots, milk and sugar. It’s a winter delicacy and is made using the juicy red carrots.It tastes yummy if cooked for longer time till the milk evaporates and sweet aroma of carrots is spread which is achieved on gas cooking half way in the end.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 Kg Carrots
  2. 200 gm condensed milk
  3. 100 gm sugar
  4. 1 tsp cardamom powder
  5. 1/2 cup chopped cashews and almonds
  6. 2 tbsp ghee
  7. 1/2 litre milk

Instructions

  1. Wash ,peel and grate the carrots.Remove the middle white part.
  2. In a microwave safe pan ,take 2 Tbsp ghee. Add grated carrots and microwave for 10 minutes stirring in between at an intervals of 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add milk and sugar and again microwave for 5 minutes stirring in between once or twice.
  4. Take it on a gas flame and add condensed milk and dry fruits .Add carda mom powder.
  5. Let it cook on medium flame till all milk is evaporated and becomes little dry.
  6. Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.
