Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. King Crab 1/2 kg
  2. Cumin 1 teaspoon
  3. Fennel seeds 1 teaspoon
  4. Peppercorns 1 tablespoon
  5. Large Onion 2
  6. Green chillies 2
  7. Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tablespoon
  8. Tomato 2
  9. Grated Coconut 1/2 cup
  10. Turmeric Powder 1/4 teaspoon
  11. Garam Masala Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Red chilli powder 1/2 tablespoon
  13. Coriander Powder 1 tablespoon
  14. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  15. Curry leaves 2 strings
  16. Salt as required
  17. Oil as required
  18. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and add some oil and allow it to heat.
  2. Without making any delay at cumin seeds, fennel seeds and peppercorns. And saute a bit.
  3. Then add chopped onions, chopped chillies and saute till the onion turns golden brown.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste hand mix it a bit..
  5. Then add garam masala powder, chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and saute well.
  6. At last, add the chopped tomatoes and also add some water so that everything gets cooked well. And keep the pan aside to cool.
  7. Now take the cooked mixture and grind it along with the grated coconut. Make it into a fine paste and keep it aside.
  8. Take another pan, add some oil and allow it to heat.
  9. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and the cooked fine paste and saute a bit.
  10. Add required water and bring it to boil. Also add required salt.
  11. After it starts to boil add the crabs one by one.
  12. It will take around 10 to 15 minutes for small crabs to get cooked. If you are using king crabs, it may take from 20 to 30 minutes. respectively.
  13. Once the oil gets separated you will know the crab curry is ready.
