One of my childhood favourites again green peas poori. Tasty and nutritious breakfast for kids.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For pooris
  2. 1 cup wheat flour
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  5. 1/2 tsp carrom seeds
  6. 1 tbsp ghee
  7. For the filling
  8. 1 cup boiled peas
  9. 1 tbsp gram flour
  10. 1 tbsp ghee
  11. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  12. Pinch asafoetida
  13. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  15. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  16. Salt,to taste

Instructions

  1. To make a dough take flour,salt,black pepper powder,carrom seeds and ghee in a bowl.
  2. Using water make a dough and cover it and keep aside.
  3. Heat ghee in a wok and add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  4. As the seeds crackle,add coarsely crushed boiled peas .
  5. Saute them for a min and then add gram flour.
  6. Saute for 3-4 mins till the flour is aromatic and brown.
  7. Add salt,red chilli powder,garam masala powder and dry mango powder and switch off the gas.
  8. To make poori take small balls of dough.
  9. Fill each with little peas mixture.
  10. Apply little oil and then roll them into pooris.
  11. Deep fry all pooris till done.
  12. Serve with chutney of your choice.
