ABOUT Goli Bajjey RECIPE

A famous Mangalorean snack, served as breakfast or teatime.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup yogurt
  2. 1 cup maida
  3. 1 tsp baking soda
  4. 1 tbsp besan
  5. 1 tsp sugar
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
  8. 1 tsp grated coconut
  9. A pinch of Hing
  10. 1 tsp finely chopped curry leaves
  11. 1 finely chopped green chillies, remove the seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add, maida, soda powder, besan, sugar, salt, coconut, curry leaves, ginger, hing and mix well.
  2. Add beaten yogurt and mix well.
  3. Initially it will look dry, leave it to rest for 10 minutes. Mix well and again let it rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Heat oil and take out the small dumplings from the dough and fry on medium low flame but hot oil till it turns golden in colour.
  5. Serve hot with a spicy chutney.
