ABOUT Minced Chicken Balls RECIPE

This is a healthy twisted version of conventional chicken/mutton balls done in tamil cuisine. Instead of roasted gram, I have used coconut flour for binding and desiccated coconut for crispy texture. it’s paleo and keto friendly.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Minced chicken - 200 gms
  2. onions - finely chopped - 2 tablespoon
  3. onion ( grinding)-1/4 part
  4. Ginger -1/2 inch
  5. Garlic - 3 no’s
  6. Chili powder- 1~2 teaspoon
  7. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  8. turmeric powder -1 ~2 pinches
  9. fennel powder ( sombu/ Sanuf) - 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Salt - as per taste
  11. Mint leaves and coriander leaves - 1 stalk each
  12. Oil for frying
  13. coconut flour - 1 tablespoon
  14. desiccated coconut- for tossing

Instructions

  1. Give a light rinse for the minced chicken. Use a sieve to wash them and squeeze out the water from it.
  2. Grind the ¼ onion, mint, coriander, ginger and garlic as paste.
  3. Mix the wet paste into the chicken, along with coconut flour, spice powders and salt. Throw in the chopped onions as well. Knead softly.
  4. In a plate, spread the desiccated coconut. Make chicken balls/ patties and toss them with the desiccated coconut.
  5. Refrigerate for one hour and shallow fry them.
