Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500g chicken
  2. 1 tomato finely chopped
  3. 7-8 curry leaves
  4. 1 onion chopped
  5. 4-5 green chillies, chopped
  6. 5-6 tbsp oil
  7. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  8. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  9. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  10. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  11. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 4 tbsp coriander leaves to garnish
  14. 1 inch ginger
  15. 4-5 garlic cloves
  16. 2-3 cloves
  17. 1 inch cinnamon stick
  18. 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  19. 1 tbsp grated coconut
  20. 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  21. 1 tbsp red chilli powder adjust

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with salt, 1/2 tbsp red chili powder turmeric and ginger garlic paste for 1 hour
  2. Dry roast all the whole spices, ginger, garlic until aromatic and grind them with coconut to form smooth paste
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter cumin and mustard seeds
  4. Add onions, green chilies and curry leaves. Saute until translucent
  5. Add tomatoes , red chili powder and saute until mushy
  6. Add chicken and ground paste. Mix well
  7. Cover and cook until done, stirring occasionally. Check for seasoning
  8. Add garam masala and mix well. Cook for a minute
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or roti
