Paneer cubes baked with spices and strawberry syrup in banana leaf

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Paneer 200 gms
  2. Hershey strawberry syrup 1/4 cup
  3. Onion 2 no (medium sized )
  4. Tomato 2 no (big size)
  5. Ginger 1" piece 2 no
  6. Garlic 10 pods
  7. Cloves 3 nos
  8. Corainder leaves 4 tsp
  9. Corainder seeds 2 tsp
  10. Pepper 1 tsp
  11. Cumin 2 tsp
  12. Dry red chillies 4 (according to the spice level required )
  13. Coconut oil 2 tsp
  14. Salt for taste
  15. Banana leafs 1

Instructions

  1. Dry roast chillies, cumin and pepper till pepper starts sputtering
  2. Remove the above ingredients to a wide plate and in same pan heat 1 tsp oil and saute onions and tomatoes
  3. Saute till tomatoes turns mushy
  4. Remove from flame and empty them to the same plate.
  5. When cooled down grind the above along with ginger, garlic ,cloves Hershey strawberry sauce,salt ,coriander leaves to fine paste
  6. Cut panneer to big medium sized cubes
  7. Cut banana leaf to big size and heat them slightly in open flame (this is done to prevent leaf from tearing )
  8. Place a tblsp of ground masala and in middle place a panneer cube
  9. Fold the banana leaf from four sides and seal it with tooth pick
  10. Heat 1 tsp oil in wide kadai and place the packed banana leafs ,close the pan
  11. And heat in medium flame for 5 mins or till leafs changes its colour
  12. Gently turn to next side and boil for 5 mins
  13. Remove from flame and serve the strawberry flavoured traditional panneer polichathu
