Kalakhand,a delicious milk fudge cake that is very popularly made in India during the festive season.The process involves just a handful of ingredients and loads of patience.After all the efforts invested,one definitely needs that kick to jazz up their moods and that is exactly what Hershey’s chocolate and Strawberry syrups delivers you.The delicious additions of these syrups gives this authentic kalakhand a makeover and a moodover to you.The combination of Chocolate and strawberry in a Kalakhand gives a taste of strawberry over Brownie.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 4 liters : Full fat milk
  2. 2 tbsp : Vinegar
  3. 250 gm : white sugar
  4. 3 tbsp : Clarified Butter
  5. 1/4 cup : Hershey’s Chocolate syrup
  6. 1/4 cup : Hershey’s Strawberry syrup
  7. 2 tbsp : Chopped/ Slivered Pistachios

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottom pan or kadai bring the milk to a boil . Once it starts to boil add vinegar and keep stirring. Let the milk curdle,once you can see whey is separating, drain and remove most of the whey.
  2. Place it back over the stove top and Continue to cook while stirring until the milk starts to turn grainy in texture. Add the sugar and keep cooking until the mixture gets thick.
  3. Add ghee and keep cooking and stirring until the mixture leaves pan.
  4. Once mixture is nice and thick.Divide it into two equal parts and transfer into two separate oven proof bowls.
  5. In one part add the strawberry syrup and in other add the chocolate syrup.Mix well until uniform.
  6. Cook the chocolate milk solids mix in microwave for four to five minutes stirring and checking in regular intervals until the mixture turns semi dry to touch.
  7. Pour out the mixture in a greased tray or thali and even it’s top by pressing with back of a spatula or flat spoon. Allow this to set at room temperature, meanwhile repeat the microwave cooking with strawberry milk solids mix.
  8. Once this is cooked to semi dry texture top the chocolate layer with strawberry mix and level the surface until smooth and even.
  9. Let this sit for 2-3 hours or overnight in a cool dry place.
  10. Garnish the dual tone Kalakhand with flower petals of choice and pistachio slivers. Cut into desire shapes serve at room temperature. Enjoy !
