Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Boiled potatoes 2
  2. Chopped Onion 1/2 cup
  3. Cooked soya granules 1/2 cup
  4. Fennel Seeds 1 tsp
  5. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  6. Garam masala 11/2 tsp
  7. Green chillies chopped 2
  8. Ginger garlic paste 11/2 tsp
  9. salt as per taste
  10. Oil 1/4th cup
  11. Roasted rice flour 1 cup
  12. Water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Firstly we need to prepare the filling. In a pan take 2 tbsp oil, when it becomes hot add fennel seed, cumin seed and chopped green chillies.
  2. When they start to crackle add the ginger garlic paste.
  3. Saute this well until the raw smell of paste is gone. Now add chopped onion and cook well until it turns pink.
  4. After the onions are done add in the soya granules and garam masala. Mix all of these very well.
  5. Finally smash the potatoes and add into this along with salt as per your taste. Mix this very well.
  6. Now the filling is ready.
  7. Now for the rice dough. In a thick bottom vessel take water and bring it to boil.
  8. Into this add salt and Roasted rice flour and mix it quickly.
  9. After its completely mixed cover with a lid and let it rest for 15 mins.
  10. Now remove the lid and knead the rice paste to get a soft dough.
  11. Now apply little oil on both hand palms and take small portion of rice dough (small ball sized) spread it like a small chapati and keep filling in between.
  12. Carefully close this and roll it into a nice ball shape.
  13. Roll and keep all the balls ready for steaming.
  14. Steam these balls for 15-20 mins. You can use and idli steamer for this.
  15. Our stuffed dumplings are ready.
  16. Serve these hot with choice of chutney or sauce.
