ABOUT Cream cheese Panna Cotta with Maple syrup sauce, Toasted coconut crumb and fresh Figs RECIPE

Panna Cotta is one of my favourite dessert! Earthy sweetness and the the crunch of the toasted coconut just goes pretty well with the whole dish. A perfect dinner party dessert and a simple one too but goes a long way!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Cream cheese - 100gms.
  2. Cream - 100ml.
  3. Full fat milk - 300ml.
  4. Sugar - 50 gms ( you could add few more tbsps here by tasting the mixture as to how sweet you want it)
  5. Lemon juice - 1tbsp.
  6. Zest of a medium lemon .
  7. Vanilla extract - 1 tbsp.
  8. Gelatin - 5gms.
  9. Water for gelatin - 2tbsps.
  10. Maple syrup - 3/4 cup .
  11. Cream - 1/4 cup .
  12. A pinch of salt. Fresh figs. Toasted coconut. Toasted almonds and sage for garnish.

Instructions

  1. Prepare your gelatin by sprinkling it over the water and mixing till it dissolves and leave aside for blooming. Beat the cream cheese, sugar and lemon zest till creamy.
  2. Heat half the milk and dissolve the gelatin in it. Pour the milk in to the cheese mixture whisking and add gradually the remaining milk and cream.
  3. Add the lemon juice and vanilla and mix well. Pour into moulds and leave to set in the fridge overnight.
  4. Heat your maple syrup to a boil and add salt and cream and let it thicken. Take off heat. Assemble your dessert when all elements are ready.
