ABOUT Green Chili Chicken RECIPE

Andhra Style Green Chilli chicken is a dry chicken recipe that is spiced mainly with green chilies and it also appears green in colour. It can be served as a dry snack or a side dish with your fried rice. Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boneless Chicken 1 1/2 inch pieces 800 grams
  2. Whole Light Green chillies 1 cup
  3. Whole Dark Green chillies 1 cup
  4. Onions 2 medium
  5. Ginger 1 inches
  6. Garlic 10 cloves
  7. Fresh coriander leaves with stems 1/2 cup
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1/2 Lemon juice
  10. Oil 3 tablespoons
  11. Cumin seeds 3/4 tsp
  12. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon powder
  13. Coriander powder 2 teaspoons
  14. Roasted cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  15. Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. First Step Marination : Grind together roughly chopped 3 dark green chilies, onions, garlic, ginger, coriander leaves,lemon juice and salt to taste and a dash of water. Make a fine paste.
  2. Add this mixture to the cleaned boneless chicken pieces and marinate for about 1-2 hour.
  3. Heat oil in a wok or kadhai. Add cumin seeds. When they begin to splatter add the 1 cup whole light green chilies and 3-4 dark green chilies into the wok.
  4. Now, add salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Saute for 2 minutes on high heat and cover with lid for about 2 mins.
  5. Then add marinated chicken to the wok and mix well. Cover with a lid for about 2 mins on a medium heat and let the chicken cook.
  6. Add coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
  7. Add water if required but remember this a dry chicken recipe.
  8. Adjust salt and other seasonings if needed.
  9. Cook on high heat for a minute. The cover and cook on a medium heat.
  10. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked well. Serve hot.
  11. Hot and Spicy Green Chili Chicken is ready to serve immediately. Enjoy !
