Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Rice 1cup
  2. Toor dal 1cup
  3. Onions 3
  4. Tomatoes 3
  5. Tamarind pulp 1/2 cup
  6. Turmeric 1 tsp
  7. Chilli powder 2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  9. Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
  10. Curry leaves handful
  11. Coriander leaves handful
  12. Carrot,beans, 100 grams
  13. For roasting
  14. Chanadal 2tsp
  15. Coriander seeds 2tsp
  16. Coconut slices 5
  17. Dry red chillies 7
  18. Ghee
  19. Hing a pinch

Instructions

  1. In a cooker add washed rice and toordal
  2. To that add a pinch of turmeric powder and hing 1onion and 1 tomato diced carrot and beans little coriander leaves and 1 spoon ghee
  3. Add water and cook for 2 whistle and simmer the stove and cook for 10 mts
  4. Roast the ingredients with a 1/2tsp ghee cool it and grind it coarsely
  5. In an other frying pan add 3 tbsp ghee add mustard seeds let it crackle add curry leaves finely sliced onions and saute it
  6. Now add turmeric coriander and chilly powders to it add salt and finely sliced tomatoes
  7. Cook till it gets mushy now add tamarind pulp and water 1 cup and cook you the raw smell goes
  8. Now add this mixture and grounded powder to the dal rice mixture
  9. Keep in stove and mix it
  10. Add some fresh curry leaves and coriander leaves and a tsp ghee and mix it and close and switch off the stove
  11. Serve it hot
