Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Broken Wheat – 1 cup
  2. Sugar – 3 cups
  3. Ghee – 1 cup
  4. Chopped cashews - 1/4 cup
  5. Water - 4 cups

Instructions

  1. Soak wheat rava in water for 6 to 8 hours. Grind to smooth puree
  2. Strain puree and extract milk. Add water to the rava and extract as much milk possible.
  3. Set this milk aside for 3 to 4 hours. Now discard the top liquid. Add 4 cup of water to the milk and mix well
  4. Take 2.5 cups of sugar in a nonstick pan and add 1/2 cup of water to it.Cook until sugar caramelizes
  5. Add wheat milk to non stick pan, add caramelized sugar and remaining sugar. Mix well
  6. Cook until it gets thick stirring constantly. Keep adding ghee a spoonful at a time. Mix well until it absorbs
  7. Keep cooking till ghee separates. It will take around 45 mins to 1 hour.
  8. Add chopped cashews and mix well.
  9. Serve Halwa as is or transfer halwa to square dish lined with butter paper. Butter paper will help in easing the halwa out of pan easily. Spread halwa evenly in the p. Sprinkle cashews/sliced almonds for additional taste ( this is optional)
  10. Cool for 3 hours or until set. Slice and serve
