Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Amaranth leaves....1 bunch
  2. Chana daal ...1 cup
  3. Ginger...1" piece
  4. Salt and green chillies to taste
  5. Asafoetida...1 pinch
  6. Turmeric powder....1/4 tea spoon
  7. Cumin seeds...1/2 tea spoon
  8. Red chilly powder....1/4 tea spoon
  9. Desi ghee....1 table spoon
  10. Garam masala...1/2 tea spoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak chana daal for 20 minutes
  2. Chop finely the leaves of saag after washing them properly
  3. Put saag, chana daal, ginger, green chillies, salt and turmeric powder and little water in a cooker and cook for 5 whistles
  4. Mash little after opening the cooker
  5. Heat ghee and add asafoetida and cumin seeds, let them cook for a while, add red chillies powder and garam masala and add this to bowl for final tadka
  6. You may add lemon juice or amchoor powder
  7. Enjoy
