Khakra is thin cracker common in the Gujrati and Rajathani cuisines of Western India

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups wheat flour
  2. 1 cup fenugreek leaves
  3. 2 tbsp green coriander
  4. 1/2 cup cheese powder
  5. 1 tbsp garlic paste
  6. 1 tsp green chilly paste
  7. 1 tsp red chilly powder
  8. 1 tsp cumin powder
  9. 2 tbsp butter
  10. 1/4 cup oil
  11. Salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Chop the Fenugreek leaves finely. Make it as fine as you can
  2. Chop the coriander leaves very finely
  3. Knead a stiff dough by taking wheat flour and adding into it fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves, garlic paste, green chilly paste, cheese powder, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, cumin powder, butter, oil and salt
  4. Now take small portion of the dough Roll it like a chapati but it should be very thin Take a round lid of container and press on the rolled chapati Take out the excess and make it a perfect shape
  5. Take a flat tava on flame. Place the rolled chapati on it
  6. Flip it in 2 sec
  7. When you see tiny brown spots from both side and start pressing with khakra maker or with a clean cloth
  8. Take out and let it settle on room temperature
  9. Store in air tight container
