very traditional recipe which we almost forgot to do. But a healthy and tasty dish and is loved by kids too. Kids enjoy the making of this recipe. And any dish made with the steaming is quite healthy..

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rice flour   : 2 cups
  2. Water               : 2 cups
  3. Sesame seeds  : 1/2 cup
  4. Red chilli powder : 1-2 tsp
  5. Cumin seeds        : 1tsp
  6. Mustard seeds      : 1 tsp
  7. Urad dal               : 2 tsp
  8. Oil                        : 1 tbsp
  9. Lemon juice        : 2 tsp
  10. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take 2 cups of water in a pan and add some salt and 1 tsp of oil  to the water and bring it to boil.
  2. When boiling add rice flour and  mix the flour well and immediately switch off and let it cool.
  3. Apply oil to hands and take the flour and knead it well.
  4. Now make sticks of required size and put aside.
  5. Now take a saucepan and add water .
  6. When boiling put all the sticks in the steamer basket and put on the  boiling water pan.
  7. Close with a lid and cook on steam for 15 minutes.
  8. Now take a pan and dry roast the sesame seeds and grind them coarsely along with garlic, red chilli powder and salt .
  9. Now take a frypan and add oil. When hot add cumin,mustard seeds and urad dal and let them fry.
  10. Then add the steam cooked sticks and the ground spice powder and mix gently .
  11. Switch off and add lemon juice and mix well.
  12. Serve hot and this tastes good with curd as well.
