Masoor dal is a very common for everyday use.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Masoor dal - 1.5 cup
  2. 1 medium onion finely chopped
  3. 2 Tomato
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
  5. Salt
  6. Coriander leaves finely chopped
  7. Water
  8. Hing - 1/4 tspn
  9. Green chilli slit - 2
  10. Refined oil or ghee

Instructions

  1. Boil the masoor dal in cooker by adding salt, turmeric powder and tomatoes cut in half in the water only.
  2. Once the dal is boiled remove from flame.
  3. In pan add refined oil or ghee and add the hing, chopped onion, slit green chilli and fry till onion turns golden pan.
  4. Pour the onion mixture over the dal and let in boil on open flame.
  5. Add some chopped coriander while the dal is boiling. Add water if required.
  6. Once required consistency of the dal is gained remove from flame. Garnish it with chopped coriander.
