ABOUT Yogurt Pana Cotta with Cherry Compote RECIPE

These whole milk Yogurt Pana Cotta are very creamy and the cherry compote adds to the flavour. Red coloured Cherries make the dessert look so inviting, perfect dessert for parties and get together. Very simple to put together and classy to look at.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 1/2 tablespoons cold water
  2. 1 1/4 teaspoons gelatin
  3. 1 1/8 cup thick yogurt, whisked
  4. 1 1/4 cup heavy cream
  5. 1/4 cup sugar
  6. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  7. Pinch of salt
  8. 10-15 cherries, deseeded
  9. 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  10. Keep some cherries and mint leaves yo garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cup mix cold water and gelatin and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a sauce pan heat cream and sugar till it starts to boil from edges.
  3. Remove the cream from heat add the bloomed gelatin and mix till it melt thoroughly.
  4. In a separate bowl whisk Yogurt, vanilla and salt.
  5. Mix this with cream mixture thoroughly.
  6. Pour in serving glasses and refrigerate to set.
  7. Take deseeded cherries in a sauce pan and add sugar and cook till cherries get little soft
  8. Cool the mixture a little and grind to a coarse paste.
  9. When the paste comes to room temperature, pour into the glasses over Pana cotta. Again refrigerate till serving time.
  10. I left the Pana Cotta to set in the evening and prepared cherry compote in morning, 1 hour before serving.
  11. Look at the texture in the reference picture.
