ABOUT Tinda Masala RECIPE

Dry vegetable, can be served hot with roti or paratha.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 250 grams Tinda (Indian round gourd)
  2. 1 Potato (optional)
  3. 1 Tomato (grated)
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. 4 green chillies
  6. 1/2 cup Corriander leaves
  7. 10 garlic pods
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1/2 tsp Turmeric (haldi)
  10. 1 tsp Dhaniya powder
  11. 1/2 tsp Amchur powder
  12. 1/2 tsp Jeera (Cumin seeds)

Instructions

  1. Peel off Tinda and cut in slices (like oranges).
  2. In a kadai, add oil.
  3. Now add tinda and potatoes.
  4. Saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add salt and mix well.
  6. Cover it with the lid and cook it on a sim gas for about 8-10 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, make a granular paste of garlic, green chilli, jeera and coriander leaves.
  8. Now, remove the cooked tinda from the kadai.
  9. Add the paste in the kadai.
  10. Add tomatoes, haldi, dhaniya powder and amchur to it.
  11. Stir masala for 2 minutes. (You can add a little additional oil if required)
  12. Now add tinda and mix well.
  13. Cover with the lid and keep it on sim gas for 2-3 minutes till done. You can sprinkle some water if required.
  14. Serve hot and decorate with Coriander leaves.
