ABOUT Egg Puff RECIPE

A popular South Indian anytime snack. During college days we almost lived on these yummy delicacies. It was like everyday indulgence, just needed another excuse to visit the nearby joint. Let it be a birthday treat, getting test results or even just happy wala feeling in the air. Re-lived so many memories. So finally presenting the all time favourite Egg Puffs.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. (for 6 egg puffs)
  2. Boiled eggs - 3
  3. Puff pastry sheets - 6
  4. Onion - 5
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1/4th tsp
  6. Coriander leaves - for garnishing
  7. Cumin powder - 1/4th tsp
  8. Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  10. Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Garam masala powder - a pinch
  12. Salt according to taste

Instructions

  1. In a non stick pan, take some oil, fry onions till they are translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears. Add in all the spices and fry well. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  2. For assembling the puffs:
  3. Arrange puff pastry sheets on baking tray. Put a spoon full of onions mixture in centre of puff pastry sheet. Then put half egg and seal the ends of puff pastry like an envelope by bringing the 4 corners together in centre.
  4. Insert a toothpick for easy baking. Repeat with the rest. Bake in a pre - heated oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 180 ° C till golden brown or as per instructions given on puff pastry packet.
