Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Boneless Chicken-500gms
  2. Turmeric (haldi) - 1 small tsp
  3. Red chilli pd - 1 and half tsp
  4. Cumin(jeera) pd - 1 tsp
  5. Coriander (dhania) pd - 1 tsp
  6. Salt- 3/4 tsp or to taste
  7. Beaten curd - 3 tbsp
  8. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  9. Tomato paste or purée - 2-3 tsps
  10. Onions sliced - 2 + 2 cut fine
  11. Green chillies-2 or 3
  12. Sugar- 1/2 tsp
  13. Cheese - 3 slices
  14. Coriander leaves - chopped fine

Instructions

  1. Marinate 500gms boneless chicken with 1 small tsp haldi, 1 and half tsp red chilli pd, 1 tsp jeera pd , 1tsp coriander (dhania) pd and 3/4 tsp salt or to taste.
  2. Keep it for a minimum of three hours or you may even keep overnight in the fridge.
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai, add 2 sliced onions and 2 chopped onions. Fry till light brown.
  4. Add two or three sliced green chillies. Keep in mind the pungency of the chillies.
  5. After it is fried a bit, add ginger-garlic paste, fry till you get a good smell and then add the chicken and fry well for about 5 minutes. Add salt to taste( don’t forget we have already put salt in the marinade).
  6. Add 2 - 3 tsps of tomato paste. Mix well . Add a little beaten curd or juice of half a lemon.
  7. Add sugar, mix well , add a little water, cover and cook till the chicken is done.
  8. Then put some grated cheese ( depending on how cheesy you like it) and mix well. Add some of the coriander leaves, mix well. Then switch off the gas, garnish with cheese strips and serve hot.
