ABOUT Khoya Gulab jamun RECIPE

Traditional Indian sweet that is popular in festive season, I have been brought up in family where gulab jamuns are must in eid, n I had starting making this sweet when I was in college, so for me it's very easy to make.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Khoya or Mawa 1 cup
  2. Maida or all purpose flour 1/2 cup
  3. Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  4. Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  5. 11/2 cup sugar
  6. 21/2 cup water
  7. Some chopped pistachios
  8. Ghee to fry

Instructions

  1. In a deep pan boil water with sugar on high flame.
  2. When it comes to rolling boil ad cardamom powder and cook on medium flame till syrup is sticky.
  3. Stirr Occationally and switch off the flame.
  4. Now crumble khoya with adding baking soda and sifted flour. Mix well
  5. Now make a soft dough using 1 or two tsp of milk (if needed)
  6. Grease your hand and make smooth surfaced balls.
  7. There should be no cracks.
  8. Fry the balls on low to medium heat till brown and take on kitchen napkin.
  9. Let it rest for 5 minute. Mean while warm the sugar syrup.
  10. Now drop balls in warm sugar syrup.
  11. Soak them for at least 1 to 2 hour.
  12. Garnish with some chopped pistachios.
  13. Serve hot or chilled.
