Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong Dal 1 Cup
  2. Malai( double cream)2 cup
  3. Sugar 1 cup
  4. Water 1/2 cup
  5. Green cardamom 5 to 6

Instructions

  1. Soak 1 cup moong dal for 5 to 6 hours
  2. Grind the soaked moon dal into fine paste
  3. Paste should be of this consistency
  4. In a pan take 2 cups malai or cream and to it add moong dal paste. Cook it on a low medium flame.
  5. Mix it properly and keep one string consistency
  6. You will get this consistency after sometime. This is the indicator that you are midway done with cooking dal.
  7. Dal then starts separating, cook till it further separates into fine powder
  8. It should reach this stage when the dal separates into grains. This stage is significant that dal is properly cooked.
  9. Add 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup of boiling water.
  10. Cook till it reaches this consistency. Then add cooked moongdal.
  11. Mix everything properly.
  12. On a greased plate set it , properly and wait till it cools.
