Idli-Sambhar is an Authentic Traditional SouthIndian breakfast. Here in this video,i have made instant idli which is very easy and quick to make.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients for Making Idli
  2. Rawa 500 g
  3. Curd 250 g
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Baking Soda 1 tsp
  6. Ingredients for Making Sambhar
  7. Arhar Dal 1 1/2 cup
  8. Lauki 500 g
  9. Carrot 1 chopped
  10. Onions 2 chopped
  11. Tomatoes 2 chopped
  12. Haldi 1/4 tsp
  13. Dhaniya powder 1 tsp
  14. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  15. Sambhar Masala 2 tbsp
  16. Rae 1 tsp
  17. Oil 3 tbsp
  18. Whole red chillies 4
  19. Khatae 1 tbsp
  20. Imli 1 tbsp
  21. Salt to taste
  22. Curry leaves Few

Instructions

  1. ADD 1.5 CUPS ARHAR DAL, 500 GMS BOTTLEGOURD, SALT TO TASTE & 1.5 CUPS OF WATER IN A PRESSURE COOKER
  2. ADD 1/4 TSP TURMERIC, PUT THE LID ON, COOK UP TILL 4 WHISTLES
  3. TAKE OF HEAT, KEEP READY DAL ASIDE
  4. IN 3 TBSP HOT OIL, ADD A HANDFUL OF CURRY LEAVES, 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS & 4 DRY RED CHILLIES
  5. ADD 2 ONIONS, SAUTE
  6. ADD 2 TOMATOES, 1 CARROT & A LITTLE WATER, COOK TILL SOFT
  7. ADD 1 TSP CORIANDER, 1 TSP RED CHILLI, 2 TSP SAMBHAR MASALA & 1 TBSP AMCHOOR POWDER, COOK FOR 2 MINS
  8. ADD MASALA TO THE COOKED DAL, ADD 1 TBSP TAMARIND EXTRACT, SALT TO TASTE & A PINCH OF SUGAR, SIMMER FOR 15 MINS, TAKE SAMBHAR OFF HEAT & KEEP ASIDE
  9. IN 500 GMS SUJI, ADD 250 GMS CURD
  10. ADD WATER TO MAKE A THICK BATTER, LET IT REST FOR 15 MINS
  11. ADD 1 TSP BAKING SODA & MIX WELL
  12. POUR BATTER INTO GREASED IDLI MOULDS
  13. STEAM FOR 12-15 MINS
  14. SERVE HOT WITH SAMBHAR
