ABOUT Potato Manchurian Gravy RECIPE

An Indo Chinese version which is absolutely yum .

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Potatoes 5 medium sized
  2. Onions 1/2 cup finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Boil 5 medium sized skin peeled potatoes until they turn soft and mushy .
  2. Mash the boiled potatoes completely .
  3. Add 1/2 cup finely chopped onions to the mashed potato .
  4. Add 2 fistful finely chopped spring onions .
  5. Add 1/4 cup finely chopped green capsicum.
  6. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt .
  7. Add 3/4 teaspoon black pepper powder .
  8. Add 1.5 tablespoons grated garlic .
  9. Add 1 teaspoon garam masala powder .
  10. Add 3 tablespoons roasted gram powder .
  11. Add 2 tablespoons chopped cilantros .
  12. Add 2 tablespoons corn flour .
  13. Mix all into a sticky smooth dough .
  14. Make small balls ought of the dough using your oiled palm.
  15. Place all the prepared balls on a plate as shown .
  16. Heat cooking oil for deep frying in a deep wok . Drop the potato balls one by one in the hot oil.
  17. Do not overcrowd . Push the balls in the hot oil as shown to ensure crunchiness .
  18. Fry the balls in medium heat until golden brown. Drain excess oil and transfer to a bowl .
  19. Heat 5 tablespoons oil in another wide pan . Add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste .
  20. Sauté the ginger garlic paste in hot oil for a second .
  21. Add 3 medium sized onions diced into squares .
  22. Sauté until translucent and crunchy .
  23. Add 1.5 teaspoon salt.
  24. Add 1 tablespoon green chilli sauce .
  25. Add 4 tablespoons tomato ketchup .
  26. Add 1 big sized capsicum diced .
  27. Sauté the veggies until crunchy . Add 1 tablespoon red chilli flakes .
  28. Toss .
  29. Add 1/4 tablespoon sugar.
  30. Add 3 tablespoons dark soya sauce.
  31. Add 1/2 tablespoons vinegar .
  32. Add 2 cups water .
  33. Add 1 .5 cup corn slury .
  34. Cook in low heat for5 minutes until all ingredients cooked and gravy looks thick. Mix in between
  35. To avoid lumps . Add a handful of chopped spring onions .
  36. Add 1 tablespoon black pepper powder .
  37. Drop the fried potato manchurian balls in the hot gravy .
  38. Toss gently , coat balls in the gravy . Let it sit under low heat for 3-5 minutes .
  39. Finally garnish with a handful of chopped spring onions .
  40. Potato Manchurian Gravy is ready .
  41. Serve hot with any pulao / flatbreads of your choice .
