Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Toor dal - 1 cup
  2. Raw mangoes (grated) - 1/4 th cup
  3. Ginger julienne - 1 tbsp
  4. Chopped chillies - 2
  5. Tomato puree - 1/4 th cup
  6. Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder - 1/4 th tsp
  10. Jeera (cumin seeds) - 1/2 tsp
  11. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  12. Dry red chillies - 2
  13. Curry leaves - 10
  14. Salt
  15. Ghee/refined oil

Instructions

  1. Boil the toor dal along with the grated mangoes in a pressure cooker. Keep aside. Heat refined oil, dry chillies followed by mustard seeds.
  2. Add the jeera seeds followed by ginger juliennes, curry leaves and chopped green chilies.
  3. Add the garlic paste, tomato puree and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the powdered masalas, salt and cook further till the masala leaves oil.
  5. Add the boiled toor dal and mix. Add water and bring up-to boil. Check for seasoning and serve.
