Ingredients Serving: 4
Chicken 500 gm
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Clove 3
Cassia Stick 1/2 inch
Garlic cloves 8
Ginger 1/2 inch
Fresh coriander leaves 2 cups
Tomato medium size 1
Green chillies 4
Red dry chillies 2 (optional)
Onion 2
Mustard Oil or Refined oil 3 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Instructions
Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder and 1 tbsp oil for an hour.
Now on a tawa dry roast clove, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, garlic, ginger, green chillies. It will take 2-3 minutes and you can smell that aroma.
Let the mixture cool down and make a fine green paste by adding fresh coriander leaves. Use 2 tsp water to grind it smoothly.
Heat a pan and add 2 tablespoon of oil. Add the red chillies, cassia stick. Now add the onion julienne and fry on a high flame till it becomes light brown in color. Mix the chopped tomatoes and cook on a medium flame until they are tender for around 2-3 minutes.
Add the green paste and mix it well. Add chicken and cook on a high flame.Stir it continuously for around 5-7 minutes until the chicken are coated with green masala. This process is called Bhuno.
Sprinkle little water in between if needed. Add salt as per taste. Add water and cook on a medium flame while covering the lid. It will take around 10 minutes to cook.
Serve it hot with steam rice.
