ABOUT Gondhoraj Lebu /Kaffir Lime Infused Kolkata Style Fish Fry RECIPE

Kolkata style fish fries are generally made with Bhetki fillets. It's a famous street food of Kolkata. I have twisted the common recipe abd infused the juice if kaffir lime into it . The flavours of kaffir lime is incredibly soothing and naturally soothes your senses. Simultaneously infusion of this flavour into the fish takes it to top notch.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bhetki fillets - 4
  2. Gondhoraj lebu /kaffir lime juice - 2/3tbspn
  3. Ginger paste -1 tbspn
  4. Garlic paste -2tbspn
  5. Salt
  6. Green chilli paste -1 tbspn
  7. Black pepper -1/2tspn
  8. Chilli flakes - 1 tspn
  9. Cashew paste -1 tbspn
  10. Poppy seeds paste -1 tbspn
  11. Oil
  12. Egg -1
  13. Bread crumbs -as required

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fillets with ginger garlic paste, salt,pepper and green chilli paste, kaffir lime juice . Keep aside for 10-15 mints.
  2. Meanwhile prepare the sauce.
  3. Take a pan add oil . Now add the remaining garlic paste. Fry.
  4. Add the cashew poppy seeds paste. Mix .
  5. Add a few drops of lime juice ,salt and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Add chilli flakes and the sauce is ready. Keep aside.
  7. Take one fillet dip in the beaten egg and cover with bread crumbs.
  8. Repeat with all the fillets.
  9. Deep fry them.
  10. Serve hot with the prepared sauce
  11. ENJOY!
