Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Guava - 500 gms. (hard and raw) chopped and deseeded
  2. Tomato - 2-3
  3. Green chilli - 1-2
  4. Ginger - 1 inch long piece.
  5. Fresh curd - 1/4 cup.
  6. Heeng - 1 pinch.
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  9. Red chilli - 2 whole
  10. Cloves - 2
  11. Cinnamon - 1 piece.
  12. Cardamom - 1
  13. Deggi mirch powder - 1/2 tsp
  14. Salt - as per taste
  15. Sugar or jaggery - 1 tea spoon
  16. Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Grind the whole spices
  2. Grind the tomato, green chilli and ginger in a grinder, adding curd to it.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and put cumin seeds to it. Once the cumin seeds turn brown in colour add ground masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder and roast them for a while.
  4. Put tomato-curd paste to it and roast the masala for 2-3 minutes. Add chopped guava, red chilli powder, sugar and salt into the masala. Stir and roast the masala for 1 minute. Now cover the pan and cook it for another 2-3 minutes until the guava becomes tender.
  5. Pour little water into the pan as per the requirement(or 1/2 cup water) and let it boil. Once the water starts to boil cook the recipe for another 2-3 minutes on medium flame and turn off the flame.
  6. Guava Curry is ready. Garnish it with Coriander leaves.
