Soak Basmati rice for 10 minutes .
In a pot , heat ghee .
Add thinly sliced onions and fry till brown .
Add the ginger garlic paste.
Add whole Garam Masala ingredients listed .
Add slit green chillies .
Add mint leaves .
Measure and pour water .
Add salt .
Cover and boil water .
Add rice to the boiling water .
Add a tablespoon of ghee to the water .
Mix . Add coriander leaves . cover the pot and cook for 10 to 15 minutes depending on the rice used .
Finally add the roasted cashews and black raisins .
Fluff the rice with fork . Mix without breaking the grains .
Serve hot with any rich gravies / raitas .
