Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chicken with bones ( large pieces ) 1 kg
  2. For marination :
  3. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  5. Yogurt 3 tablespoons
  6. Kashmiri chilli powder 3 tablespoons
  7. Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon
  8. Coriander powder 1.5 teaspoon
  9. Cumin powder 1 .5 teaspoon
  10. Poppy seeds 2 tablespoons
  11. Salt 1 tablespoon
  12. Saffron milk 1 tablespoon
  13. Milk 1 tablespoon
  14. Garam Masala powder 2 teaspoons
  15. Black pepper powder 2 teaspoons
  16. Ghee 1 tablespoon
  17. For Grinding :
  18. Silver Almonds soaked 1/2 cup
  19. Cashew nuts soaked 1/2 cup
  20. Onion big sized 3
  21. Ripe Tomatoes big sized 4
  22. Fried onions 3 tablespoons
  23. Garlic 8 pods .
  24. Green chilli 1
  25. Water to grind
  26. Other ingredients :
  27. Oil 3 tablespoons
  28. Ghee 2 tablespoons
  29. Curry leaves 2 sprigs
  30. Salt
  31. Cumin seeds
  32. Dry red chillies 3
  33. Black pepper powder as required
  34. Cinnamon stick 2
  35. Cardamom 3
  36. Mace 2
  37. Cloves 6
  38. Star anise 3

Instructions

  1. Marinate the slit chicken pieces using the ingredients listed for an hour .
  2. Grind ingredients listed to a thick paste using vert little water .
  3. Heat oil in a wok .
  4. Crackle cumin seeds .
  5. Add the whole Garam Masala ingredients .
  6. Add dry red chillies .
  7. Fry for a minute .
  8. Add the ground paste . Fry in the oil for 5 minutes .
  9. The paste turns colour .
  10. Add the marinated chicken along with the marination masala .
  11. Toss and fry chicken in masala and oil for another 5 minutes .
  12. Cover and cook till chicken turns tender .
  13. Add curry leaves .
  14. Add ghee .
  15. Once the chicken is cooked , remove the cover and cook in high flame for the gravy to reduce . Masala to get infused Better .
  16. Adjust salt and spice .
  17. Hyderabadi Murgh Lazeez is ready .
  18. Serve hot with naan / roti .
