Mutton curry Bengali style. Its an all-time favorite Sunday meal.. quintessential for Bengalis
Marinate the washed mutton with curd, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, tomato paste, red chilli powder, coriander and cumin powder , chilli paste, , and 2 tsp oil. For 2 hours minimum
Heat oil in a pan. Fry the potatoes till golden. Keep aside.
In the same oil. Add bay leaf and methi dana. As they splutter. Add onion paste. Salt and sugar. Coik for around 3 to 5 min
Add marinated mutton and cover the pan let it cook on low heat for around 20 min. Stirring occasionally.
After 20 min put flame a bit higher and fry the meat till oil oozes from sides.
Now put 2 cup water in cooker start boiling . Into it. Add the meat and fried potatoes. Mix well.
Close the lid. Cook till 4 whistles. Once the presure releases. Open the lid add 1 tsp gjrr mix well. Add the bengali garam masala. Mix well. Cook for 2 to 3 min more.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with hot rice..
