ABOUT Mandi Mutton Rice-Arabian RECIPE

Mandi mutton rice is a traditional meat and rice dish from the Middle East and is fondly eaten all over the Arabian Peninsula. The word Mandi comes from the Arabic word, nada, it means dew and reflects the dewy flavor of the meat used in preparing the dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. MUTTON 500 GM
  2. Basmati Rice 400gm
  3. Vegetable oil 5Tbsp
  4. Cumin 1 tsp
  5. coriander powder 1tsp
  6. Cumin powder 1tsp
  7. Chilli powder 1tsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  9. Chopped coriander 2 tbsp
  10. Mint leaves 2tbsp
  11. Garlic chopped 2 tbsp
  12. Ginger powder 1 tsp
  13. Ghee 2tbsp
  14. Hot water 21/2glass(approx)
  15. Almond chopped 10nos
  16. Tomato puree 2tbsp
  17. Mandi masala Bay leaves 2nos cloves 8 nos black Cardamom 2nos green Cardamom 6nos cumin powder 1tsp Coriander powder 1tsp aniseed powder 1tsp 1 tsp Chilli flakes

Instructions

  1. In a pot, add and marinate the mutton, salt, Mandi Masala, turmeric, vegetable Oil(2tbsp) Keep in the refrigerator for atleast 30 minutes soak rice in water for 30 mins and strain out the rice and keep aside
  2.  In a cooking pot, add Oil, onion, cumin, hot spices, salt, green chili and fry it until light brown
  3. Now add, garlic chopped, marinated mutton, red chili powder, ginger powder (sonth), coriander powder, cumin powder and cook it for 5 minutes And add tomoto puree and let it cook
  4. Now add, hot water in it and steam for 30-40 minutes on low flame.
  5. After steam let the mutton out and add rice in the pot and cook for a while.
  6. Afterward, add mutton on the surface of rice and steam.
  7. - In the end place a foil paper in the middle of rice with ember and butter, coriander leaves, mint leaves and cover it for a while.
  8. Now garnish with chopped almonds and now your tasty Mutton Mandi dish is ready to serve
