Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Strained water of boiled chana dal -1 big bowl
  2. Boiled smash chana dal -1- 2 tablespoon
  3. Green chili -1-2
  4. Musterd seeds -1teaspoon
  5. Cumin seeds -1teaspoon
  6. Turmeric powder -1 teaspoon
  7. Chili powder -1-2 teaspoon
  8. Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
  9. Tamarind -1 tsp
  10. Sugar /jaggery - 1 tsp
  11. Coriander leaves - one handfull
  12. Goda masala - 1-2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Soak chana dal in water for 2-3 hrs. Pressure chana dal with 3-4 whistle.
  2. Strain water of boiled chana dal. Keep strained water in a bowl.
  3. Heat kadhai with 1 tablespoon of oil, add musterd seeds, cumin seeds, starts crackling, add curry leaves.
  4. Then add turmeric, chili powder and goda masala. Stir for a minute..
  5. Then add strained water of boiled chana dal, add smash chana dal, sugar or jaggery, slit green chili, give a nice stir..
  6. When it starts boiling add tamarind. Keep boiling for 4-5 minutes.
  7. Check seasoning , sprinkle some coriander leaves, katachi amti is ready to serve. Serve it with puranpoli or steam rice..
