Soak the dal and rice for 4-5 hours. Start by grinding the rice coarsely, then add the dal and grind it coarsely as well.
Heat a pan, add oil, hing, jeera, rai, til, curry leaves, once it splutters turn off the gas.
In the dal and rice batter, add the chopped vegetables, lemon juice, sugar, curd, salt, red chilli, turmeric powder, ginger and mix well.
Add half the amount of tempering into the batter. Then add baking soda in the end and mix well.
Pour this batter into a greased cake tin. Pour rest of the tadka on top of the handvo and sprinkle some red chilli powder as well.
Bake it in a preheated oven at 200 degrees celsius for 15-20 mins.
Serve it warm.
