Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Moong daal 3/4 cup
  2. Green chilly 3
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1/2 spoon sugar
  5. A pinch of asfoetida
  6. 1 tsp oil
  7. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1 tsp besan
  9. 2 tsp curd
  10. 1 tsp fruit salt
  11. For the tempering
  12. 1 tsp oil
  13. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  14. 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  15. A pinch of asfoetida
  16. 2 tsp finely chopped green chilly
  17. For the garnish
  18. 1 tsp finely chopped coriander

Instructions

  1. Combine the daal and green chilly and blend in a mixer.
  2. Take a bowl. Add salt,sugar, Asafoetida,oil ,turmeric powder, besan and curds and mix well to make a batter
  3. Just before steaming sprinkle fruit salt and mix lightly.
  4. Pour batter into the greased thali
  5. Stem in a steamer for 10 to 12 minutes
  6. Heat oil in a pan .add the mustard seeds
  7. Add sesame seeds, Asafoetida and saute on a medium flame
  8. Add the green chilly and saute on a medium flame
  9. Pour the tempering over the prepared dhoklas and spread it.
  10. Cut into a pieces
  11. Serve hot
