ABOUT Sprouted green gram buttermilk kuzhambu RECIPE

In this gravy we add cooked moong sprouts to spiced buttermilk .Its a healthy kuzhambu which can be served with rice or chapathis.time taken for moong to sprout is not included.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong sprouts-1/2 cup
  2. Buttermilk-2 cups
  3. Tomato- 1
  4. Oil - 2 teaspoon
  5. Mustard seeds-1 teaspoon
  6. Methi seeds-1/ 2 teaspoon
  7. Asefotida-1/2 teaspoon
  8. Turmeric powder-1 teaspoon
  9. Curry leaves-2 teaspoon
  10. For roast and grind
  11. Urad dhal-2 teaspoon
  12. Tuvar dhal-2 teaspoon
  13. Methi seeds-1/2 teaspoon
  14. Coriander seeds-2 teaspoon
  15. Dry red chillies-5
  16. Coconut grated 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Cook sprouts moong with water in a Cooker for a whistle
  2. In a kadai add a teaspoon of oil and fry all the ingredients given under to roast and grind.
  3. In a blender add the roasted ingredients and little buttermilk and blend into fine paste
  4. In the same kadai add oil and add mustard seeds methi seeds and curry leaves.once they splutter add the chopped tomato and fry for a minute.then add moong sporuts, turmeric powder, salt, asefotida and fry for 3 minutes.
  5. Now add the ground paste and fry for few minutes. Then add buttermilk to it and mix well. Once it becomes frothy ,switch off the flame.
  6. Add coriander leaves and serve hot.
